Comets Split in Dual Meet Opener
This past Saturday, the Comets got their first taste of collegiate wrestling at the Bakersfield College Duals. This was our first time at this event, and our guys got a quick, hard introduction to collegiate wrestling.
Despite dropping our first two, our guys responded well by winning their last two dual-meet matches.

My Thoughts
Great job to all of our guys for going out there and battling. This tournament was a great chance for our coaching staff to get a look at our guys in competition. Dylan Henry, Leo Lucatero, and Cade Johnston showed they are already in outstanding form with undefeated weekends.
Good, bad, or somewhere in between, I love competing because it lets us see trends and what we need to focus on, both individually and as a team, to get our guys to the next level.
After watching this competition, it looks like we have plenty to work on - basics, basics, and more basics!
I’m excited to keep getting one percent better and get our guys up to the Comet standard.
What’s Next - Intrasquad
Up next, we’ll be at home for our intrasquad matches at 5 PM. This is where our guys will fight for their spots in the lineup and put on a show for our home crowd.
I’m also excited to welcome our alumni, who will be visiting for our Palomar Wrestling Legacy and Leadership luncheon at Cocina Del Charro at 1 pm.
