Palomar Women’s Wrestling Newsletter 03/26 - Bakersfield Open

Comets fans, alumni, and supporters,

This past weekend, the Lady Comets went up to Bakersfield College for the inaugural Bakersfield Women’s Open. Our team wrestled well and came away with 3 champions, 6 placers, and a second-place team finish.

Palomar Women’s Wrestling at the Bakersfield Women’s Open

The team looked great and still performed despite having to leave the school at 3 AM. Small doses of adversity like this can be a good thing, in my opinion, because they make you step up and do it anyway when things don’t feel perfect. Because they rarely will!

It’s always a bit special to me to go back to BC, since I grew up in Bakersfield and spent plenty of time getting extra training there from elementary school through high school. Thanks to the women’s team for hosting a well-run event!

Up next, we’ll be at the Mt. SAC Open on Saturday. This will be another chance to see some good competition and help ourselves out with seeding for the state tournament. 

Palomar Women’s Wrestling Fundraiser

Our annual fundraiser is off to a good start, but we still need lots of help to reach our goals. We’re humbly asking that our supporters make a tax-deductible donation to our Blast Athletics Fundraiser to help our team pay for the many expenses it requires to keep our team going and up to the standard we’ve set.
